Heart 104.9 FM

Heart 104.9 FM launched back in July 1997 and has been a fixture in South Africa’s Western Cape ever since. Based in Cape Town, the commercial station brings in nearly 600,000 listeners every week, according to the latest BRC RAMS data. They are owned by African Media Entertainment (AME) now, having cut ties with Media24 years ago. The station broadcasts in two languages: English and Afrikaans. Instead of trying to please everyone, the station sticks to a clear musical lane, playing jazz, Adult Contemporary, and urban hits for city listeners.

The daily schedule is timed perfectly around Cape Town’s traffic and work routines. Weekdays start at 6:00 AM with Aden and Suga in the Morning, where co-hosts Aden Thomas and Suga share a real, easy-going chemistry, mixing local news updates with dry humor until 9:00 AM. After that, Olwethu "Lady O" Nodada takes over for The O-Factor, followed by Lunga Singama’s lunchtime slot, The Move. If you're into sports, Mondays at 2:30 PM are reserved for Feinberg on Football, where Nick Feinberg gives his raw, sarcastic take on English Premier League and local PSL games. Listeners can tune in on 104.9 FM, find them on DStv Channel 827, or just use the station's app.
